Market Harborough has been revealed alongside North West Leicestershire to be the happiest place to live in the county.

The announcement comes as part of a survey, undertaken by The Telegraph, which looks into the areas with the happiest residents and cheapest homes.

Market Harborough achieved a happiness rating of 7.6 out of 8, as taken from the Life Satisfaction Index from the Office of National Statistics.

Whilst Harborough and North West Leicestershire did well in the rankings, Leicester, Oadby and Wigston all received low ratings for happiness and affordability. The county as a whole scored highly on both scales.

Market Harborough’s the perfect mix

William Naylor, of Naylors Estate Agents in Market Harborough, comments on the announcement: “It comes as no surprise that Market Harborough would rank highly for the overall happiness of its residents – rural areas often score highly on quality of life, and Market Harborough combines its proximity to the countryside with a bustling town centre.”

“It really is a wonderful place to live and work.”
