2015 has been a great year for new housing proposals in the Market Harborough area and the rest of the Harborough district.

Several proposals are in varying stages of development, with a new developer last month requesting feedback on their plans to build up to 70 news house in the village of Great Bowden. The new houses, if given the go ahead, will be built on a site off Station Road and Berry Close.

Further to this, the Harborough Mail has reported that an application for 270 more houses is imminent for Farndon Fields, whilst a proposal for 9 houses in Great Easton has been lodged. Two separate applications, totalling 171 homes, are currently being considered for land in Kibworth.

It was revealed last year that Harborough Council had been failing to meet the government’s housing quota, and so it is expected that around 700 houses will be built in the district by the end of 2015.
