Two district of Harborough upper schools are celebrating some of their best ever GCSE and A-level results.

First was Robert Smyth Academy on Burnmill Road which achieved the best set of A-level results in the school’s history. The school amassed an unprecedented 100 per cent pass rate, with over a quarter of the grades being an A* or A. More than half were A*-B and 80 per cent were A*-C.

One week later, the school’s GCSE students managed to reach grades that were equally exceptional. 74 per cent achieved five A*- C grades – an increase of nine per cent on the previous year. Results in English and maths were the best-ever with 90 per cent earning A*- C in maths and 83 per cent in English.

Lutterworth College, located in Market Harborough’s neighbouring town Lutterworth, also enjoyed a successful year. AS results were the best in the history of the school, doubling the number of A grades compared to last year – 21 per cent of all results were A grades. There were many success stories for A-level students at the college too, with a number of impressive results from straight A students.

GCSE students followed suit by also exceeding expectations, especially English students, who achieved the best grades in the college’s history.

From everyone here at Naylors Estate Agents, we’d like to say a big well done to all the staff and pupils!

It’s not just the upper schools that have been performing well. Earlier in the year it was found that Market Harborough has five of the ten best primary schools in the Leicestershire area.
